"Education is the most powerful weapon we can use to change the world." — Nelson Mandela
The University of Louisiana at Lafayette's College of Education is proud to be a global leader in educational change through our advocacy, collaboration, and innovation. In our academic programs, students develop the skills, knowledge, and reason to go out and change the world. Our dedicated faculty and staff are at the top of their fields, training both teaching and non-teaching professionals for careers in education as certified teachers, school counselors, and more—as well as careers in kinesiology fields like physical therapy, athletic training, coaching, cardiac rehabilitation, sport management, and occupational therapy.
Our coursework is designed specifically so you'll have the knowledge you need to build your skill set—and to apply those skills in classrooms and clinics. Those skills come from field experiences, clinical rotations, internships, and the teacher residency, which all lead to exceptional professional career opportunities.
We're proud that our students successfully secure jobs in schools and other settings as they complete their internships and teacher residencies each semester. We're confident that our undergraduate, master's, doctoral, and online programs will fit your ambitions.
In the College of Education, we have three departments and one school:
• Department of Educational Curriculum and Instruction (EDCI)
• Department of Educational Foundations and Leadership (EDFL)
• Department of Counseling (COUN)
• School of Kinesiology (KNES)
The College of Education enrolls approximately 2,250 students with an average of 400 students graduating each year. We also provide the largest number of certified teachers in the state of Louisiana.
