Eckerd College is more than a breezy waterfront campus in St. Petersburg, Florida. We also have first-rate faculty, a vibrant internship program, and an impressive array of study abroad courses—which all work together to provide you with the education of your dreams.
Think outside
Our coeducational college of liberal arts and sciences invites students to take advantage of a spectacular mile of campus waterfront on Florida's Gulf Coast for outdoor laboratories in Biology, Marine Science, and Environmental Studies as well as an impressive array of intramural, club, and intercollegiate sports and water recreation. Our offerings in the arts and humanities inspire creativity and foster critical thinking and self-awareness. Many of our 2,000 students travel with faculty leaders to nearly 40 countries for research and cultural learning, including our own dedicated study center in London. We venture together to think outside conventional questions, methods, and solutions—seeking to build a better world.
At home in St. Petersburg, Eckerd offers a close, friendly community that values volunteer service, environmental activism, and creative self-expression. Nearly 90% of our students live on our 188-acre campus, many in our themed residence halls, which includes pet-friendly accommodations. New students begin with a three-week orientation known as Autumn Term, and from the moment you set foot on campus, you’ll be able to participate in joint student-faculty research and scholarly projects—designing original studies and gathering, analyzing, presenting, and even publishing your findings.
After graduation
Eckerd students leave the College with more than a bachelor’s degree—they graduate with experience. They go on to find more than jobs—they find fulfillment. Visit eckerd.edu/outcomes to see how our graduates have extended their studies and launched their careers.
